Chris Dunn will discuss how different pure water solutions are regulated differently by focusing on Water Treatment (equipment, claims and governance), Selling Water as a food (bottled water, vended water and FDA) and the newly enacted Food Safety Modernization Act (implications to bottlers, implications to your water treatment, your food safety plan, HARCP - Hazard Analysis of Risk & Preventative Controls, and unintended consequences.)

Bio

Founder, President and CEO of DunnWorks, a strategic consulting firm specializing in the worldwide water, beverage, packaged ice and consumer package goods industry.

Recently retired from NSF International, the Public Health and Safety Company where he managed the global Beverage Quality program offering food safety certifications (NSF, SQF, BRC) as well as laboratory testing, food safety audits, consulting and training for bottled water, natural mineral water, flavored beverages and packaged ice. Chris is also qualified as a beverage auditor and a food safety trainer.

Chris is a 40+ year veteran of the beverage industry. He has provided a wide range of assistance in business development and market strategy to the water, beverage and consumer package goods industries. While developing his consulting company, Dunn also served as SVP of BIOTA Brands of America, Inc., a bottled water company that developed the world's first environmentally-friendly bottle made from sustainable PLA resin. Chris also worked as VP of Business Development, Planning and Marketing for Suntory Water Group, a producer and distributor of home, office and retail bottled water products where he was responsible for a portfolio of emerging business sectors, including Filtration, Coffee, Distributors, Water.Com E-Commerce and National Accounts. Prior to Suntory, he worked at Coca-Cola for nineteen years where he held numerous marketing and management positions at Coke and Coca-cola Enterprises.

For over 20 years Chris has been involved with bottled water and packaged ice trade associations around the world and is a past chairperson of IBWA's Communications Committee and Watercooler Europe's Environmental Sustainability Committee. He currently serves as Treasurer of the International Council of Bottled Water Associations and is a Director the Mid-America Bottled Water Association. He is designated by Water Quality Association as a "Certified Water Specialist", is a SQF Practitioner, certified in HACCP and approved by NSF as a bottled water and packaged ice auditor.

Dunn holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Denver and a MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
