These rough economic times, coupled with recent changes in the law, have resulted in a sharp increase in certain categories of employment lawsuits. More and more disgruntled former employees are filing suit in addition to, or instead of, looking for work. This presentation will discuss several employment claims that have become increasingly prevalent since 2009; will highlight a number of actual and proposed changes in the law; and will provide suggestions aimed at assisting you in preventing and preparing for employee suits.

Speaker Bio

Jason D. Maynard is an associate at Singler & Dillon, LLP, where he represents clients in both litigation and transactional matters. He began his legal career in the summer of 2006 as a law clerk with a boutique Santa Monica law firm that practiced solely employment/civil rights litigation. In 2009, Jason joined Singler & Dillon, where he expanded upon his already substantial litigation experience to handle a wide variety of cases including unfair competition, trademark, civil rights, insurance bad faith, bankruptcy and landlord & tenant matters. Jason graduated magna cum laude from USC's Marshall School of Business, attended Pepperdine University School of Law on a full-tuition Dean's Scholarship, and graduated from there cum laude/Order of the Coif.
